Let Not your Heart be Troubled

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

"Let not your heart be troubled" is a call to trust in God's goodness, sovereignty, and love, and to find peace and comfort in Him, even in the midst of challenging circumstances.

The phrase "Let not your heart be troubled" means:

- Don't let anxiety, fear, or worry dominate your thoughts and emotions.

- Don't allow your heart (mind, emotions, and inner being) to be disturbed, upset, or unsettled.

- Remain calm, peaceful, and steadfast in the midst of challenges or uncertainties.

- Trust in God's sovereignty, love, and presence, and find comfort in Him.

- Don't let your heart be filled with fears, doubts, or uncertainty, but instead, focus on God's promises, faithfulness, and goodness.

This phrase is

an encouragement to:

- Trust in God's presence and care

- Find peace in His love and sovereignty

- Resist fear, anxiety, and worry

- Cultivate a calm and steadfast heart

- Focus on God's promises and faithfulness

The statement "Let not your heart be troubled" was made by Jesus Christ in the Gospel of John 14:1-6, during the Last Supper with His disciples. The circumstances leading to this statement were:

How To Fulfill God's plans for your life

1. Jesus had just announced His departure and that He would be going away (John 13:33).

2. He had also predicted His betrayal and death (John 13:21).

3. The disciples were confused, anxious, and fearful about the future (John 13:36, 14:5).

4. Thomas asked Jesus where He was going, and Jesus replied that He was going to prepare a place for them (John 14:2-3).

5. Philip asked Jesus to show them the Father, and Jesus replied that He was the way, truth, and life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

In this context, Jesus saw the fear, uncertainty, and troubled hearts of His disciples, and He offered them comfort and assurance, saying:

"Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me." (John 14:1)

Jesus was essentially saying, "Don't let your hearts be filled with fear, anxiety, or uncertainty. Trust in God, trust in Me, and have faith that everything will be alright."

Here are some ways to fight fear, distress, and unbelief:

FEAR:

1. Face it: Acknowledge and confront your fears.

2. Faith: Trust in God's sovereignty and love.

3. Focus: Shift your attention to God's promises and truth.

4. Fellowship: Surround yourself with supportive community.

5. Faithfulness: Remember God's faithfulness in the past.

DISTRESS:

1. Declare: Speak God's truth and promises out loud.

2. Delight: Focus on God's goodness and love.

3. Depend: Rely on God's strength and presence.

4. Direction: Seek God's guidance and wisdom.

5. Deliverance: Trust in God's power to deliver you.

UNBELIEF:

1. Acknowledge: Recognize and confess your doubts.

2. Accountability: Share your struggles with a trusted friend or mentor.

3. Anchors: Hold onto God's promises and truth.

4. Assurance: Remind yourself of God's faithfulness and love.

5. Action: Take small steps of faith to build trust.

ADDITIONALLY:

1. Prayer: Seek God's help and guidance.

2. Scripture: Meditate on God's Word and promises.

3. Support: Surround yourself with encouraging community.

4. Self-care: Take care of your physical and emotional needs.

5. Surrender: Let go of control and trust in God's sovereignty.

Remember, fighting fear, distress, and unbelief is a process that takes time, patience, and practice. Be gentle with yourself and keep seeking God's help and guidance.

Jesus is the answer to all our worries, pains, and anxieties. He is our refuge, our comfort, and our hope. Here are some reminders of how Jesus can help us in our times of need:

- "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

A New Dawn for your Success

- "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6)

- "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27)

- "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

- "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you." (Psalm 55:22)

Jesus understands our struggles and pains, and He wants us to bring them to Him. He is our burden-bearer, our comforter, and our redeemer. When we turn to Him in faith, He can:

- Calm our fears and anxieties

- Heal our emotional and physical pains

- Give us peace and rest

- Strengthen us in our weaknesses

- Guide us through uncertain times

May we always remember to turn to Jesus in our times of need, and may we find comfort and hope in His loving presence.

Have you Jesus your friend?

 Say this prayer:

Dear God,

I come to you today with a humble heart, acknowledging that I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness and grace. I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son, who died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day.

I confess my sins to you, and I ask for your mercy and forgiveness. I repent of my ways and turn to you, seeking a new life in Christ.

Please wash me clean with your blood, Jesus, and clothe me in your righteousness. I surrender my life to you, and I ask that you would fill me with your Holy Spirit.

Help me to follow you every day, to obey your teachings, and to share the Good News of salvation with others.

Thank you for loving me, for saving me, and for giving me eternal life.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

If you have just prayed this prayer, know that you have made a decision to follow Jesus Christ and have begun a new journey with Him. Welcome to the family of God!
