TOPIC: HOW TO DEVELOP PERSUADED FAITH

Persuaded faith refers to a deep-seated conviction or confidence in God's promises, character, and goodness. It's a faith that is rooted in the Word of God and is not easily shaken by circumstances or doubts.

CHARACTERISTICS OF PERSUADED FAITH:

1. Conviction: A persuaded faith is based on a deep conviction that God's Word is true and reliable.

2. Confidence: It's characterized by confidence in God's promises, even when circumstances seem impossible.

3. Trust: Persuaded faith involves trusting in God's goodness, sovereignty, and love.

4. Perseverance: It's a faith that perseveres through trials, doubts, and challenges.

5. Surrender: A persuaded faith involves surrendering to God's will, plans, and purposes.

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES:

1. Abraham:

 Romans 4:17-22 in the NIV:

17 As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah's womb was also dead.

20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

22 This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."

 Romans 4:17-22 describes Abraham's persuaded faith in God's promise to make him a father of many nations, despite his advanced age and Sarah's barrenness.

2. David: 

 Psalm 23 in the KJV:

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 .Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalm 23  showcases David's persuaded faith in God's goodness, love, and care, even in the midst of challenges and dangers.

HOW TO CULTIVATE PERSUADED FAITH:

1. Study God's Word: Regularly reading and studying the Bible can deepen your understanding of God's promises and character.

2. Prayer: Communicating with God through prayer can strengthen your trust and confidence in Him.

3. Worship: Worshiping God can help you focus on His goodness, love, and sovereignty.

4. Community: Surrounding yourself with believers who encourage and support your faith can help you persevere through challenges.

5. Obeying God: Obeying God's commands and living according to His will can deepen your trust and confidence in Him.
