 WHAT IS PLANNING

This is the process of deciding in advance what should be done, how it should be done, where it should be done and who should do it. It is also a designing of step by step approach to accomplishing a goal. It can also be referred to as the ordering of one’s priority in a bid to accomplishing a given task. 

Planning is winning just as breathing is living, it is also the key to success because he fails to plan has actually plan to fail.

Luke 14:28-30

28: For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first and counteth the cost whether he have sufficient to finish it, lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him.

30: saying, this man begins to build and was not able to finish. 

THE IMPORTANCE OF PLANNING YOU MUST KNOW

1. It is planning that empowers our purpose to deliver.

2.Planning gives value to purpose because purpose is dead without planning.

3.Every big achievement begins with a plan.

You don’t need a plan for a shanty but you need a plan for any building of great value, this implies you don’t plan to fail but you need to plan for great achievement.

There is no business without a business plan whether oral or written.

Without planning and preparation, failure is almost guaranteed: The highest level of irresponsibility is believing that God will provide proper planning. Faith is not transferring your responsibility to God, it is partnering with God.

HOW TO PLAN YOUR LIFE 

Define your goals: 

A goal is an individual objective to satisfy. In the year, month or year, what do you actually want to achieve? Don’t think only about the “WHAT” but also the “WHY” of the specific goal.

Proverbs 29:15 “where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law”

Don’t think only “WHAT” of your goal, identify the “WHY” you what to achieve something this will be a major factor of getting over the hurdles.

Ensure to get an achievable goal – be specific.

Write it down: 

Habakkuk 2:2 “Then the Lord replied; write down the vision and make it plain on the tablets so that a herald may run with it. 

Science says “putting pen to paper means there’s a greater likelihood of achieving your goals.

Practically speaking, making a plan and writing it down makes it come to life.

Putting your plans on paper will enable you to constantly revisit your plans to know if you’re actually accomplishing them. 

PLAN FOR OBSTACLES:

Obstacles may happen, identify potential obstacles and plan for how you might overcome them when they arise. You won’t be able to plan for all scenarios but having plan for unknown challenges will help you overcome the discourage that can happen when you get off track.

REVISIT OFTEN:

Planning is an active and ongoing effort. It is not a one – and – done activity. Keep your plans in an easily accessible place and review it often.

Be an active participant in achieving your goals by looking at your plans and making adjustments as needed. At the end of the year, you’ll be able to review everything that happened to make your successful.

Where did you start and end, and how will this impact future planning. Ongoing review of your plan will help to ensure you captive all the important detail.

SOW TOWARDS YOUR PLANS:

Psalms 37:5 “commit your ways to the Lord trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass”

When you set up an achievable goal, do commit it to the Lord in prayer.

Sow towards it, for God loves a cheerful giver. So to your goal is a way of saying Lord my strength alone cannot carry me or assist me in this.

God believes in order and he took time to plan during creation - Genesis 1

Before God created the fishes, he made sure there was water.

He made sure there was forest and grasses before he created animals. He made a garden before he created a man.

God give Adam land to till before giving him a wife – that is in order.

Planning is the application of logical, rational and analytical thinking to your objectives. You will never know the worth of what you have until you become a committed planner:

You don’t grow big to manage well; you manage well to grow big.

So, the business, investment, ministry that will be big tomorrow will be seen in the quality of the structural plan that it is engaged in now.

MANAGEMENT SKILLS: Is the key to determining the level of the result that any organization will ever command

It is good management that guarantees good result.

Any farm that is not properly managed is bound to fail.

Good management is the skill to the fruit of yielding capacity on any fan.

Time not well managed will be trashed.

Money not well managed will be squashed so everything that must grow must be well managed. Prayer without planning is playing without knowing and planning without programming is living in the woods, lost in the wilderness and programming without pursuit is dining with the dead. 

1Corithians 8:13

Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
